One of a kind hand-cut paper in the image of tree branches. From an original photograph that I took in Brattleboro, VT, this is one of the first paper cut-outs that I did a number of years ago. It is backed with richly textured, translucent paper, sandwiched between sheets of acrylic, bordered with electrical tape, mounted on a piece of bamboo and wired with a fixture to back-light it. It throws very soft light when it's turned on in dark conditions, nice for accent- or night-lighting.
Much like the Musculature of the Back, this piece was originally mounted on opaque card stock, when I decided it was time to back-light it, I ever so carefully peeled each glued-down branch from the heavy paper, cleaned off the little parts that had ripped up with the branches and mounted it as you can see below. I was pretty happy with how it came out.
This is one of my very early paper cuts. It has been around with me for a long time and holds a lot of sentimental value.
