Musculature of the back.
This is one of the earlier paper cut-outs that I've done. The design is from an anatomy book. Like all the cut-outs that I do, the entire image is cut from one piece of black paper. I finished this one before I implemented the idea to back-light most of my cut-outs. I'd backed the image of the musculature with red lokta paper and mounted the whole piece with glue to a heavy, completely opaque, tan piece of paper, impossible to back-light. So it sat for years in a folder while I regretted that decision, until I finally, and very very carefully, peeled the image off the backing paper, thankfully causing no damage. I re-pasted it to a piece of nicely textured and translucent paper and mounted it all with acrylic sheets and various other bits of hardware and electricity. It now can be placed on a shelf, atop a dresser or other piece of furniture, or hung on a wall.
